Photograph the side while the frame sits naturally on the bridge. The temple should travel past the ear’s upper attachment and curve in a way the fitter can evaluate. Do not pull the frame backward to make the tip reach; that moves the lenses and bridge.

Compare with a known comfortable pair. Record both printed temple lengths if available, then compare bend start and hinge location. A five-millimeter longer marking can behave similarly if the candidate bends earlier.

If the temple clearly cannot reach a serviceable position, replacement or manufacturer-approved longer temples may be the realistic route. Interchangeable parts must match the exact frame system; do not attach generic temples because the screw seems to fit.

If the frame rides backward or the bend climbs onto the ear, the effective length or curve position is unsuitable.

Check whether the bridge is being pulled upward or backward. A temple that is too short can prevent the frame from resting at its natural bridge position. The wearer may push the glasses forward for relief, only to have them spring back.

Compare an older pair that fits. Observe front width, hinge position, straight temple run, curve, and endpoint. A longer stamped number may not be the only difference. The successful pair may begin farther outward or use a gentler bend.
